How can I get a job as a youth worker in NSW?

There is no single qualification or entry point to youth work in NSW. You can study youth work or welfare at TAFE. Some youth workers have other qualifications such as teaching, social work or psychology, or skills eg. music, art or sport. Some youth workers get into paid youth work through voluntary work at a local youth service.

There is more information in the Job Guide at http://jobguide.thegoodguides.com.au - look up Youth Work and make sure you read the additional information for your state or territory.

I have a question relating to another state or territory, not NSW

YAPA is the peak body for young people and youth services in NSW only. For peaks in other states and the national youth peak, scroll down to Other peak bodies in other states and territories of Australia, at: www.yapa.org.au/youth/topics/youthorgs.php

Can YAPA work with our youth organisation in another country?

YAPA is a very small organisation working in just one state of Australia, and so unfortunately we do not have the capacity to work with overseas organisations.

I want to join YAPA, or get unleash magazine, or yaprap newsletter
