You should make your own travel arrangements and pay your own travel costs. Some people can apply for a travel subsidy - see below.
Museum Station is 5 minutes walk, Town Hall Station is 10-15 minutes walk, and Central Station is about 20-25 minutes walk.
Coming from the bush
If you are coming from a more distant rural areas you can apply for travel subsidy to help with your travel costs.
No travel subsidies left, sorry!
Who is eligible for a travel subsidy?
-
Young people coming from more distant rural areas, beyond the following towns: Ulladulla, Queanbeyan, Yass, Orange, Muswellbrook, Tuncurry.
-
Young people coming from anywhere in NSW who have a special circumstance (eg. a disability) which increases their travel costs.
What will YAPA subsidise?
YAPA will subsidise a young person in one of the eligible groups (above), as our budget allows, for reasonable costs as follows:
-
Vehicles: YAPA will subsidise actual petrol costs from your home to Sydney and return. (We cannot pay Award kilometre rates, hire car costs, parking etc).
-
Train or coach: YAPA will subsidise return fares for young people (not adults).
-
Air fares: YAPA will subsidise return air fares for young people (not adults), if we judge that the time taken to drive or take a train/coach would be unreasonable.
In all cases we will decide whether to subsidise you fully or only for part of your costs, depending on our budget. Once we have fully allocated our subsidy budget, we will not be able to subsidise anybody else even though they fit the guidelines above.
How to apply for a travel subsidy
Apply on the travel subsidy form (PDF).
There is no deadline to apply, but if we receive your application after we have allocated our subsidy budget for the conference, we cannot pay you any subsidy.
