Who is this for? What does the training cover?
A two day training course for workers with less than a year's experience and anyone who wants to update their skills.
The training will provide an overview of:
- Duty of care & ethics in youth work
- Consulting with young people
- Engaging young people
- Inclusive youth work / access & equity
- Drug & alcohol issues for young people
- Mental health issues for young people
- Managing challenging behaviours
Each session is run by an experienced youth worker and the program includes a mixture of activities, discussion and presentations.

- 2-3 March - Newcastle
- 4-5 May - Parramatta
- 3-4 August - Sydney CBD
- 2-3 November - Sydney CBD
Attendance: This is a "fulltime" training course - participants are expected to attend for the whole 2 days. Please do not book a place if this is not possible.
Cost (including GST)
- $88 for YAPA members (conditions apply - see booking page)
- $176 for non-members.
