Gifts and prizes

This document is an internal policy of YAPA. Use it to help develop your own agency's internal policies. You will have to make changes to suit your own context and any legal requirements which apply to you.

Policy

All gifts and prizes received for work carried out on behalf of YAPA are the property of YAPA, regardless of whether the work is carried out during working hours.

Procedures

  • Gifts and prizes valued under $20, and all flowers, may be kept by the staff member or representative to whom they were given.
  • Staff or representatives may keep frequent flyer points which were accrued during the booking of flights for YAPA business.
  • All alcoholic drinks will be shared between staff and Board of Management members at functions such as the AGM or end of year party.
  • All other prizes, including lucky draw prizes, worth more than $20 must be declared to the Executive Officer. These prizes or gifts will be offered for sale or raffle with monies received being given to YAPA.
  • Any money or payment for work carried out on behalf of YAPA (such as committee fees or speaking fees) belong to YAPA. These must be declared to the Executive Officer and given to YAPA.
  • Any prizes received from a raffle ticket purchased by staff members belong to the staff member who paid for the ticket.
