This document is an internal policy of YAPA. Use it to help develop your own agency's internal policies. You will have to make changes to suit your own context and any legal requirements which apply to you.
As per the YAPA Constitution:
Membership of YAPA is open to a person or organisation if and only if the person or organisation:
(a) has applied for membership of YAPA;
(b) supports and is committed to YAPA's objectives, and is either
(i) a Young Person, or
(ii) a Youth Service, or Network, or
(iii) a Young People's Group; and
(c) has been approved for membership of YAPA by the Board of Governance;
A state or federal government department or office is not qualified to become a Member of YAPA.
An application for membership must be in writing using the appropriate membership form. The membership form will state that applicants agree to support the Objectives of YAPA, as outlined in the YAPA Constitution.
Members must pay an annual fee that has been set by the Board.
New members must be approved by the Board of Governance, usually at their monthly meetings.
A list of organisational members will be maintained on the YAPA website.
As per the YAPA Constitution:
A person is no longer a Member of YAPA if the person:
(a) dies;
(b) resigns that membership;
(c) is expelled from YAPA;
(d) after written notice, has not paid the annual subscription fee within two months of the date it fell due; or
(e) reaches the age of twenty-six.
An organisation ceases to be a Member of YAPA if the organisation:
(a) is wound up;
(b) resigns that membership;
(c) is expelled from YAPA; or
(d) after written notice has not paid the annual subscription fee within two months after the date it fell due.
