Payment of fines

This document is an internal policy of YAPA. Use it to help develop your own agency's internal policies. You will have to make changes to suit your own context and any legal requirements which apply to you.

Policy

Staff members and Board members are required to follow existing road and transport rules while on YAPA business.

YAPA does not accept responsibility for any parking, speeding, train or other travel fines.

Procedures

YAPA will not pay the cost of travel fines incurred by a YAPA staff member, Board member, student, training or event participant or volunteer.

This policy applies even if the fine was incurred during the conduct of YAPA business.

When driving, staff members and Board members should ensure that they arrive at their destination with enough time to find adequate parking. In many situations YAPA will reimburse for parking costs (see separate policy).

For the safety of both drivers and passengers, staff members and Board members are required to follow all road rules, including the observance of speed limits, while on YAPA business.

When travelling by train, staff members, Board members, students and volunteers should ensure that they arrive at the departing station with enough time to purchase a correct ticket for their destination.

When YAPA hosts training events the organiser may identify potential parking stations close to the training venue as part of the pre-training information given to participants.
