Youth workers and youth agency managers (employers) both need access to guidance on how to interpret ethical principles. Some of this guidance can come from other workers and managers.
Every month or so YAPA posts a new dilemma on this blog (web discussion forum), and invites youth workers to respond. YAPA moderates the blog but we publish (almost!) all comments - including ones we strongly disagree with - to stimulate debate. So the blog does not usually come up with "the right answer". We encourage a range of diverse responses to reflect the varying contexts and attitudes within the sector. Don't assume that everything said here is good, ethical youthwork!
Suggest a dilemma
Simply email info@yapa.org.au with the subject: ETHICAL DILEMMA. It can be real or not. Give plenty of detail about the context. You don't have to identify yourself or your agency, and in any case we will not identify you publicly.
