Access & Equity Guide for services working with young people
YAPA's 3rd edition of the Access & Equity Guide for youth services aims to help youth services to develop and implement their own access and equity policies. The guide explains what access and equity is, the meaning of social justice, and why it's important for youth services. The guide also helps organisations to identify their own policy gaps and access barriers to culturally and linguistically diverse young people. It gives examples on how to develop a policy and action plan along with examples of practical strategies to address barriers and gaps once they are identified.
Beyond survival: Working with young people from a refugee background: A guide to getting you started
This guide was developed for youth workers and service providers to promote a better understanding of some of the key issues faced by Australia's young people from a refugee background and consequently how this can affect the way we provide services to them. The guide contains lots of useful tips, key acronyms, information about the Australian Humanitarian program, issues faced by young people, ideas for working with young people, services available and lots of great web links and resources.
