Legal Aid NSW provides free workshops for staff, volunteers and board/committee members of NSW community organisations as part of our Law for Community Sector Workers program. These workshops cover many areas of law including family law, employment rights, mental health and various other topics. All workshops are delivered by experienced lawyers and are free of charge. These workshops are held in Sydney, Bankstown, Parramatta, Newcastle, Maitland, Gosford, Wollongong, Dapto, Nowra, Wagga Wagga, Albury and Griffith.

RAGE Facilitator Training
Learn how to run ‘RAGE’ (Renavigating Anger and Guilty Emotions) a six session anger management course for kids aged between 11 and 17. RAGE is a strengths-based solution focused program that is hands on, practical and also fun for kids. It was originally created by Ken Nathan and Carol Musgrave whilst working at Richmond Community Services Inc. as a response to a need within the community to help workers deal with adolescent anger issues. This training was developed in partnership with the NSW Strategy to Reduce Violence Against Women and Richmond Community Services Inc. Family Support Program. The RAGE resource is reproduced with the kind permission of Richmond Community Services Inc.

What to expect from the training:

  • Discover the many faces of anger
  • Discuss the 4T’s anger cycle
  • Look at healthy expressions of anger
  • Learn that guilt is an important part of the anger cycle and learn ways to deal with guilt
  • Learn about the importance of relaxation, exercise and diet
  • Work through and present sections of the manual
  • Receive a facilitator’s manual.

Who is the training for? Workers who want to expand their group programs and workers, teachers, parents and carers who want to improve their knowledge of anger and helping children deal with this emotion more creatively and constructively.
